I joined in the the very late 80s and was neither too young nor too ill. By that time the "free love" era was definitely over, at least in the area I lived in. The rules in place at the time were that singles needed permission from the home shepherds to engage in sex, or pursue a relationship, and these rules were pretty strictly enforced. There were no more threesomes and very little extra-marital sex. Overall there was a decided lack of sex taking place, and if orgies went on then it would have been done behind closed doors by leadership in the places I lived, which ranged from large combos to teen homes to small field homes in a variety of countries and continents. The prevailing attitude of that time would have been "all things are lawful, but all things are not expedient" with the emphasis on the second part of that verse. Not everything DB said was being put into practice by everyone, everywhere, all of the time by the time I joined. But that's just my side of the elephant.
