Yes, it would be more like the European ones. It would not end all private enterprize, but things like care for children, elderly, education, public utilities, would not be privately controlled. The funding comes from higher taxes and the more you make the more you pay, but everyone has security from cradle to the grave. IMO, people tend to work more and be more satisfied when they feel like they are valued and not working to keep ever shrinking benefits and worry about losing their home, their family, their health if they have an illness, ot losing their health care if they can only work part time. It is not greed based society and yet there is room for growth.
I don't believe children, elderly, injured, ill people should face desolation because of a turn of events in life. I'm thinking of Palmes' Sweden. Not sure how Italy today compares.
