I can only speak about this generally because I'm not elected president as the candidate for a non-existent Social Democratic Party in my country. I would imagine that if a SDP was created with equal exposure to election process in the USA, and I trusted that politician, he or she would already have a platform with generalized changes to be implemented and people to act as advisors in implementing change. If elected by a majority and with a defined platform, people would be expecting change and know that it would be gradual. I am for freedom and social reforms. I would imagine it would be like Sweden where some ultra rich chose to leave the country. They were not exiled or banned from visiting or coming back, but they just didn't want to pay the amount of taxes they would have to pay.
