Maybe you should work on your stop insulting people who aren't made in your image skills or your keep up with the times skills. Last I checked, music was still a multi-billion dollar industry. There is nothing dishonorable about being a musician and everyone has to start somewhere. Without sponsorship, much of the high arts which society craves would disappear. Grants and tax relief to help beginners in the industry to get established is similar to grants encouraging small company startups. It takes time and dedication to become a great musician, and dedication means you can't always have a job. All musicians and artists have up and down periods and there is nothing wrong with setting up a system to buffer the hard times they inevitably suffer, especially in the beginning. In better times, they usually end up paying more than their fair share of taxes and generate so many jobs around them that they and make up for far more than whatever was given them in aid.
