As most probably will agree, this above citation is rather good, that is, compared to what follows in the rest of the letter. Yes I know the iron fist still clearly visible underneath.
What initially was to be a purely voluntary thing, i.e. “it has to be with mutual consent” escalates into pressure, from there into threatening… to take away from the poor man everything he’s got, family and all and send him away empty, unless he agrees to send his dear wife for prostitution.
And what was the man’s crime? He was obeying his God given apprehensions.
Indeed Berg’s Law of Love in action.
