People were expected to take suggestions as orders and so many letters emphasized that not "sharing" was rebellion against God. That meant loving that was more akin to human trafficking. Women were even encouraged that continuing to share with stds and deny own health and health of johns was more important than taking care of self. Refusing to "share" had dire consequences to many. Also, money was made (organized prostitution) so,nothing so "free" about the prostitution and expectations within the fam. God was the hammer who could exact pain or death to those who disobeyed such as the woman murdered in front of her kids, or the consequences of refusal to "share" as in The Girl Who Wouldn't. Ahhh, there's nothing like the love of Jesus.....
