One thing that I keep thinking about: I didn't get out until 2001. I was past 50 and not very well equipped for the job market. But back in late '78 and early '79, right after Jonestown, Berg wrote for a few months about dropping back into the system, and I remember writing to the university I'd been in before joining for a transcript of the credits I had, so that I could get back into a local university and get a degree. I was really excited about it. But within a few months Berg had us going the other direction again, I was still brainwashed into thinking he was the "one", the one and only end-time prophet, so I gave up my ideas on finishing my education.
And now come the apologies and well we were wrong about this and that and university educations ...I can't help but think, too bad Berg wasn't consistent with his short-lived idea that we needed to become a part of the "system" 30 years ago in the wake of Jonestown.
