I like your analysis...I wonder though how much
space...freedom...is really given by the very powerful & also whether they have (I think they have) a certain bias towards some "poorer" people
e.g. regarding religious/philosophical sentiments.In the scenarios about the future (doomgloom...energycrisis...foodcrisis...overfishing of the oceans etc.) the question is for me: how much would the capitalists be willing to share with the poorer or what opportunities are they willing to make for the poorer...educationwise etc...I think the Chinese & Soviets learned to rather give their people some "enjoyment"...a bit bigger cage, to use your words.Frankly, that is to small for me, if they'd also infringe my freedom of "believing/living" my religion, as that has happened already often enough in the past.
Disaster capitalism shows me one more time the ugly face of greed, becoming big at all costs.
