Well, it is one thing to talk about viewpoint, and another to talk about details. History is made of facts and details, and using the word viewpoint is a cop out.
Was Merry Berg's viewpoint different when she was literally tortured, different from, say, other people in the household she was in? Is it enough to say that?
This becomes rhetoric, and it does not address the facts and events that turned a utopian movement into a destructive machine.
