There have been some very strange people who joined TF over the years, so just because this guy looks like a pitiful homeless man today doesn't mean he wasn't in TF in the past.
As far as system names being less helpful than Bible names, it all depends on the particular local circumstances and the time period. There were periods when I knew the legal name of most of the people I lived with in TF. However, the closer I got to top-level leadership the less that was true.

I knew several members of the Curran family, and let me tell you, they are a strange lot! God help them all!!!!! (Not really).
I’m sorry for what happened to you, but at least you can sleep a little bit better knowing that you were able to put this man behind bars!
