Your post wasn't too long at all and thanks for describing what happened. YOU should write a book. Good for Oz being so watchful of their citizens. That fear of something bad happening because of "backsliding", to either ourselves and/or children or loved ones.
Then there are the nightmares, of planes crashing when trying to leave, nuclear bombs going off beside me with seconds to explode and no way to get away, nightmares of being separated from children in an airport in an emergency and not being able to find them..etc.
Symbolic nightmares of water rising from an ocean or streams and trying to get to higher ground with the water always rising.
We are survivors. You are a very strong woman and I'll bet your son appreciates that.
