Wasn't it Jesus whom the crowds were singing "Hosanna" to?
That's definitely honour (yes I know, they crucified him later, but Jesus wasn't adverse to a little praise, remember the woman wiping his feet with her tears?). But so saying I think I understand what you are getting at;
that perhaps our motivation isn't so pure and this is why we end up "fighting". But these aren't the "wars" James was speaking of. These types of disagreements are healthy and I think it's good to have a falling out and regrouping. I don't think life should be all about perfection, and perfect harmony, in relationships. (the cults can have that particular illusion)
So when you have a fight it doesn't mean you have to dump the whole thing, (unless you really believe you have a valid fight)
I haven't even totally made up my mind, but you seem awfully quick to judge, and I'm actually only guessing at what you are trying to get across, as I find you very vague and using scriptures out of context to try and drive a point home in such a way that I can only approximate what you on about.
Anyway , I try not to do books on the boards, so I'll leave it here.
