Could it be that we have a natural compulsion of sorts, embedded mainly deep within the subconscious mind, that can manifest itself on these boards as almost an addiction to give and receive praise and honour one to another?
"How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?" John 5:44
Jesus Christ Himself did not receive honour from men and was hated for it.
"I receive not honour from men." John 5:41
In many places He commanded us saying "FOLLLOW ME".
Or must we, not unlike others, compromise and love the praise of men more than the praise of God so that we become accepted?
I "believe" the only truthful answer to that question is Yes.
Christ was REJECTED.
For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. John 12:43
And could this love (lust) for praise, though not always immediately discernable, be cause for wars and fightings amongst us posters?
From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? James 4:1
just some "thoughts" that may or may not be of value to you
