If visible, tangible signs of global warming constitute a bad winter, then we have one...it's bad for the icebears further north and too good for the bugs chewing up the needed tress etc... otherwise I save on fuel : )
coordinators, this is a lovely time of the year & I am sure you're lovely people there...I don't mean to be a drag, neither do I like to draw things out here.
It's not my intention to make an elephant out of a mosquito...however I just let you know my motive: a lot of boards have the attitude live & let live,
where the posters seem to enjoy a good deal of freedom, take movingon e.g., people who get banned are pedophiles...I can't blame them & a few others may be, but it's not that netiquette is observed much...because (may be) it rolls of their back?I think it's better to be sweet & loving, but I said more than once, it's may be not that realistic in this world, where even in some parliaments in the world you have real fistfights & that's not all...I don't suggest to come to that level, but this constant reminder of being nice to each other can also be a bit overburdening.What do you think?
What I felt very annoying is, that OT 2, from my perspective, had this time no real chance "to be good"...no matter what he did, it was wrong for some...if I were him, I would have given up...I am not discussing the value of the content, I am arguing from the point what it meant for him ...apparently...why else would he post it then?...
I came across the other day a book of mine about the exercises of Ignatius of Loyola, he writes...roughly translated: "that every good... (Christian)... must be eagerly willing to save the statement/opinion of ones neighbour, rather then condemn it and if he/she can't save it, he/she should inquire, how he/she meant it and if the other one understands it badly, he/she should correct the other one in love...
I am not saying I am doing all that..but what about nitpicking these days?I think posting should also be some fun, without always having to fear, that your time is up...very harsh unfriendliness...outright hate & namescalling I don't think anybody allows, at least I don't care for such hypothetical/possible site...but is that such a drag to talk about the machanism of getting annoyed & banned now?(referring to tired of this)
I could endure/had endured/liked OT 2 posts & if I didn't have time to read it all or didn't understand it...I skipped it...even though OT 2 post in question was lengthy...it said very clearly the reasons, why being too open, could have his drawbacks, although that dream of being open was probably shared by many here...
so what if it happens to be drawn out... the subject...Some are too short here in their posts & of course never get reprimanded for it.
And you basically voice it nicely what I feel too, many decisions are subjective...Do as you're convinced about the agenda.
