About your observation that only strong personalities join cults, I don't think that is the case. There was some kind of survey, can't remember from where now, and it concluded that people from all walks of life join cults, all personality types, all types of family backgrounds and upbringings.
Farmer, I am tired of this nitty-gritty.
The remark Swede made is no different from something Achieck said, verbatim. It simply means they went away, came back, and people were still going at it like before. It's an observation. It's allowed. If you are saying Swede was in any way judgemental and ran away when things got rough, well isn't that judgemental of you? Just so you know, Swede said he/she doesn't come here anymore except once a month, hinting about not wanting to offend anyone with his/her strong remarks and getting into fights with OT2. It's been about a month now, so he/she might show up anytime soon.
We are trying to be as fair as possible. Coordinating is not an easy job. On top of simply putting out fights, we also need to set the tone for what is permissable or encouraged. So in that respect, that we put our personal flavor in there, it is not fully democratic and never will be. But are we unfair? I'd like to think not. Do we make mistakes? Sure.
Your obervation is right: length of post is not the problem per se. It's more about netiquette. I know what you mean about some things being a virtue in one setting and a negative in another. A pushy male who speaks his mind is assertive, whereas a pushy female who speaks her mind is a bitch. But that boils it down again, to time and place, appropriate or not. In this medium, on this board, OT2 has not managed to post much in an acceptable manner. Is that up to the sole discretion of the coordinators? Yes.
I brought up other boards to say we are not alone in finding OT2 a problem on our boards. I did not attempt to drag his fights or the arguments of coordinator from other sites over here; unlike what OT2 tried to do on several occasions. For everything you are bringing up you the arguments work both ways. It was highly insensitive of OT2 to respond the way he did, and the person who started the thread politely pointed it out. So who was insensitive first?
We did not find anything wrong with the position of that poster because OT2 does have a problem staying in context, and it was a rather odd reply. There was a disagreement or misunderstanding. But what did OT2 do about it? I suspect you see nothing wrong with his counter-attack.
Can we stop with the nitty-gritty now? I really want to leave this subject aside. OT2 can speak for himself. I don't like discussing him in third person.
You've voiced your opinion, made your point more than once, you're on record. We can agree to disagree, but in the end, it is still our job to decide what is appropiate or not for our boards.
Have a lovely day! Is it a good winter where you are?
