Since when does The Family compensate ANYONE for "all of the work" people give them? They just say that being paid is not part of the bargain when you give your life to them, so why would this case be any different?
If they did compensate people who saved their sorry forked tails, they would compensate the children abused in the Family who nevertheless saved them from the pokie by following their training as "Deceivers Yet True."
