I used the term "deviant" in a statistical sense, in that homosexuality deviates from the central tendancy of heterosexuality or from the accepted standards of a society. Another way of stating my intent is that homosexuality is a variant sexual minority.
I know that "deviant" also implies "perverse," and I find it ironic that Berg elevated someone that many people label "perverse" as a female leader. I also find it ironic that Keda's fall from grace came when she sent Berg a video of her & her lover doing the dirty deed. Berg's reaction was one of outrage & disgust. Why? Apparently, Keda & her girlfriend didn't include a male partner in the video. Loving & mutually satisfying sexual contact between two women isn't about satisfying male fantasies. In a male-dominant culture, that's a really perverse thought, isn't it?
