In cults, isn't there really only room for ONE leader and everyone is subservient to that ONE? Yes there are people that get elevated to positions over others and can do some atrocious things, or not in a few cases, but their position is on ice if they deviate from the ONE.
I was thinking how Berg was fixated on his penis with "Typewriter Queens" and so many other graphic letters of his. Berg died and Maria became the ONE and the fixation became the vagina as evidenced by the "LJR".
Many women were reluctant to get in bed with Berg and of those that did many are sickened by the role they had with Berg feigning sexual prowess which seemed to be an obsession of his. Not to mention that some said he spent hrs. having women perform fellatio on him throughout a typical Berg day. I think peoples heads were pretty messed with and perhaps more so the closer they got to Berg.
I think Berg was all about humiliating people modeling himself on a small but equally devastating to the individual- Mao in the cultural revolution type role.
What I have a hard time with is this comment:

Firstly, I don't see homosexuality as "deviant" by any means. What was deviant was Bergs control over homosexuals demanding they not be exclusive (in the case of females) or that they don't do it at all (in the case of males).
Any leaders job was one of submission to the ONE and with the constant threat of losing their position if they weren't toeing the line of Berg and now Maria doctrines.
