I don't think it was invented in a cold-blooded & calculated way as a deliberate sham. If you read it again you'll see the so-called 'prophets' thot they actually were seeing that stuff. Sure, they were deceived, but I simply can't believe they made it up KNOWING it was false.
Your source might be right about Abrahim, but the Vandari rev is different.
