What is different here is that the con was not "let's pretend" but actual family doctrine that was made up by Maria and an other then fed to Berg in a drunken state and then it became family doctrine.
This is on par with Tamar's plagierized art and it is a good look at the con game on the inside. I don't believe Vandari was a revelation from a deluded psychotic. I think it was concocted just like Abrahim was.
