I did not abandon my children. You are uninformed. I think that my divorce/custody paperwork needs to be published, and the second show on Dr. Phil needs to air so that you will be better informed.
I can sympathize why a domestic violence victim does not leave the violator. I cannot condone the victim's reluctance to leave when thier children are at risk, even though I understand the complexities of leaving. I can sympathize with a victim that needs time to leave. But when I say I cannot "condone" a person's action, I am not making a judgement on that person. I'm just saying that I couldn't do it.
My decision to join the COG was not an "irresponsible" one. It was the beginning of my faith and acceptance of my own spirituality. I wish I had found this faith in my local church at the age of 17, but it is what it is.
You have no need to act as an advocate for Jo. She is very articulate and I enjoin you to listen to the discussion the two of us are having.
