I think these really are the Family's true motives, btw. After all, as freaked out as they are by cleanliness & washing their hands till the skin comes off, & changing dirty outside shoes & clothes when they come out from the 'dirty' system, do we really expect them to dirty their hands helping refugees? Besides, as Grandpa's Ghost will probably point out, there's no telling what diseases they might contract from touching the poor people.
