Observer, I agree with your above post with only two exceptions:
1. The vast majority of physical & sexual abuse *is* in the past, and Chancellor's claims to this effect are simply factual. (Though this says nothing of e.g. the Family not caring about ridding themselves of past abusers or not seeking justice for victims.)
2. Sure, Peter was not elected as leader (though he probably would be should the Family ever hold such a vote) but IMO his leadership style is not dictatorial. Despite his at times very sordid past, he has probably done more (often behind the scenes) to reform certain areas of Family life in recent years than has any other individual. IMO, he's the lesser of available evils.
The rest of what you wrote I generally agree with.
