I understand that people might be reeling from the Rolling Stone article, but I wonder if you guys know what it feels like to be one of the witnesses and to see people bandying about the issue of your credibility in this objectifying way. Maybe it's that my own traumatic memories of speaking out with no backup are triggered by this discussion of others.
Maybe there's no way around it with issues directly implicating such figures as Zerby, but I hope the witnesses in question don't read those comments or have a thicker skin than I. Who knows, maybe the broader support that exists today versus 12 years ago makes it easier to handle for the witnesses.
The Rolling Stone article has been a long time coming. If people had listened to Mene when she was describing Zerby's MO 13 years ago, would Ricky have felt the need to come to that? Would Mene have less torment?
