That sure helps explain Ricky's rage at his mother, what amounted to incestuous rape. I'm sure she did it at Berg's behest, whether she would have had any inclination to do such a thing or not. Didn't Berg order one of his FFers in Tenerife to sleep with her own son -- but that FFer refused.
Maria couldn't refuse, apparently. My guess is that being 'disobedient to the law of love' & an order from Berg would have cost her her job & position as Queen, & Zerby was too power-hungry to renounce the position. So she committed incest with her own son.
