I grew up in Northern VA. My father left his house to my stepmother whom he knew for a total of 2 years before he died 24 years ago. She recently died, leaving the $750,000 house to her kids. Sigh. I'm shying away from NVA because of the outlandish property prices. Hence, Charlottesville. Since we know no one there, we're also thinking of KY, which is where my husband is from. Hmmm...
