I agree with you. I can think of at least 2 instances of kidnapping involving children.
However, please notice:
To kidnap: an act or instance or the crime of seizing, confining, inveigling, abducting, or carrying away a person by force or fraud often with a demand for ransom or in furtherance of another crime
Confining definitely applies. There have been cases of adults held practically against their will, and under duress, during re-training in camps.
So kidnapping of adults when joining or being recruited no, but some instances of kidnapping are there.
