We have a similar agreement. I extend this same confidentiality even to e-mails. If someone sends me an e-mail with the intention that it is for my eyes only, then it is not shared, and certainly not made public.

A lot of exmembers highly prize their privacy and value that their correspondence remains confidential. Yet there is almost a soap-opera like desire for many other members to know what's happening, and urging for info to all be laid out on the table, unaware that innocent third parties could be embarrassed or their privacy intruded upon in the process.

It has been frustrating at times when someone writes irate about a situation and I know the solution is already on the way, but I have to bite my tongue and not tell them, even if telling them would make them happy. And then I get accused of being secretive or of doing nothing.

Since leaving the Family I've had quite a number of work situations where we didn't tell the competions about projects we had in the works, cause industrial espionage is big business. Not that I was in big business, but I've seen breaches of confidentiality cost us thousands of dollars in lost work when someone took our idea and ran with it. And in this case, our 'competition' is the Family, who would love to have little clues and information.
