Reading the whole thread I am not sure if your point is completely addressed. Do you still think that the type of board you present is needed? I am asking because I think there is some value in the general idea but I am not even sure I completely understand it.
I consider myself a Christian, but one who will never accept dogmatic beliefs just because... In fact I question just about everything - which may bring in yet different problems. As a Christian, I am eager to learn about other belief systems.
For example, I have learned that some traditions in India relegate spiritual revelation for what they consider more important, the finding of the human guru who can teach person-to-person. The order of priority in Christianity is the oposite. However, many of the teachings about love and human interaction, even interactions we (Christians) would consider divine, are similar to Christian teachings. I say this not to start a discussion, which we could take on in Journeys but to show that many belief systems share common practical teachings and to find them requires a certain amount of open-ness. The only way to learn from each other or to continue in our journey away from the cult's teachings is to have free dialogue - and without coercion.
In this light, wouldn't Journeys be enough?
If not, perhaps you are talking about a GenX-type of board but totally secular where the mentioning of spirituality is completely eliminated, is it?
