I think I'd have to agree that some of us may hold seperate definitions of what a complete recovery constitutes.
It sounds like you may have had one of those cheap forgiveness things going on in your past; you know, where, like you said, the pain gets burried, only to be revisited and properly grieved at some later date. Been there, done that lots.
I do feel that if the pain does get revisited and properly grieved, as in coming to the boards and getting it all out, or through alternate therapy, or whatever, and the issues do get laid to rest, resolution is found, genuine forgiveness is reached and there's no more axe to grind, and you've moved on into newness of life and can look back and give thanks for all the lessons you've learned along the way, then I would say, imo, THAT would constitute a complete recovery. One may have to recycle, or rethink, a few things here and there once the new life is on it's way and flourishing and the new personal theology is being established, but as I said in a post a bit futher down the board, that's very doable.
