I agree with your therapist...
I would characterize Sam as a pretty "pushy" person,
mainly interested to reach his higher goals, not minding so much the personal feelings of the people
involved...
I think in christian terminology I'd term it as a sign of trying things much in the flesh, whereas patience would be needed, even if the victims don't "cooperate" the way he wishes it...it's a lack of trust & patience
