When you say "I suspect" etc, the connotation you give makes it sound like there's something wrong if someone has a problem with what the Bible says. I believe that if someone has problems with what the Bible says, that's their business. I have agnostic friends that are great wonderful fantastic people. There's nothing "wrong" with them.
Speaking for myself, there's a lot in the Bible that's wonderful, but there's a lot that is not at all important or meanigful to me, and if those things are important to someone else, fine.
What I do have a problem with is how people take the Bible and use it hurtfully, as a tool to manipulate and control others and whatnot. The Bible is/was also used by many a king, pope, and/or political leader to justify horrible injustices.
