I knew quite a bit about how the average person operated online before I got involved with the ex-member boards. Since the, I've learned a lot more.
At first, I didn't understand the whole anonymity thing, but after hanging out for a while, holding a couple of fellowships and travelling to others I started to really see the need.
There is a huge amount of fear still out there. I became afraid to be involved with ex-member fellowships anymore because I was afraid of who might end up at my house at the same time. People were married to all kinds of other people, had kids with who knows who. Kids that were abused were now in their 20's and ready to kick someone's ass. All I knew is I didn't want any of that at my house.
What did you call it? Complex? I have to agree.
The ability to be anoymous on the boards is a key to the whole thing. It just shouldn't be used as a method of further abuse.
