Thanks for posting all that. It's interesting to hear how you stayed FM and then from that status you finally really left. Most FMers hold down jobs, their kids are in school, etc. but they still keep the Family mindset. There's a FM family who lives in our area, they've been paying homage to the group for years now. Only the wife really reads the GNs they get. They don't accomplish much of anything, and their quality of life is low. It would do them so much good to get out of the delusions they still hang on to.
I disagree with one of things you said "...one of the many New Age Religions".
"...one of the many New Age Religions" Some books that have helped my wife to recover from the cult are for example from people like Louise L. Hay, who is said to be a New Age author. If her stuff and some of the other personal development stuff we've read is New Age, then I don't see how the Family fits into the New Age picture. (One of my favorite groups is Enya, whose music is called New Age.)
As far as I'm concerned The Family is just a weird perverted cult that brainwashes its followers, and I was one of its victims.
