Hi Erika, I don’t know if it will help me in the long term being on this sight but for the moment I think you’re right as at least it helps you to think about issues in a step by step way, that you don’t usually allow yourself to think about, much less talk about, a bit like journaling I suppose. But I do have a question for you? How can “new” be the key word here… I’d say it’s more like salvage. You do your best to try and make a new life for yourself, but how can you be a new you, the old you just doesn’t disappear no matter how much you may want it to, even if you end up becoming the opposite person how do you know you’re not doing it just to be the opposite? Even if you do decide to live without the “old” as you say you have, old decisions, judgments and experiences affect new ones, as you usually judge on what you have learned from before.
