If you're seriously interested in finding some affirmation for the spirituality expressed in your post, I suggest checking out a publication by the Carmelite nun Mother Tessa Bielecki, Abbess of the Spiritual Life Institute.
She has published a tape called "Passion for God: The Path of the Bridal Mystic." It sells for under $20 and can be ordered from the web.
