Ha.
You know, just to mention, I have seen a lot of posts on these boards which mention masturbation. Unless things have changed dramatically in the last four years since I left, this is basically a non-issue in the Family. It was always one of the basic teachings that masturbation is not a sin. Yes, the LJR letters in the mid-90's did talk more specifically about masturbation. Personally, I clearly remember when we read this letter together as Home when it came out and, at least in my Home, it basically embarassed everyone to read it out loud and I think most folks acknowledged that yes, it is not a sin to masturbate, and that was the end of that. It was never some kind of new Family doctrine that one had to do so!
I know it can make for some great sarcastic comments and jibes and etc... but personally, having been divorced for many years, I always liked the fact that those sexy and horny thoughts I had were not a sin and, in fact, I could bring those to the Lord too. While I could never go as far as some, I still to this day often "feel" myself curling up in His arms as I go to sleep, even imagine him petting me and whispering "I love you" in my ear. I do not feel there is anything wrong with this but am very thankful that I can have this personal relationship with Him, something I have not found talked about or encouraged in any of the churches I have attended since leaving the Family.
