Your suggestion is well taken. I am not inclinded to "go after" anyone, and I respect the fact that 2nd gen folks get hurt when 1st gen "leaders" are exposed. I am simply asking for more information about family involvement in the humanitarian aid business.

So what you're saying is that humanitarian aid business in Russia is primarily a 2nd gen activity? Since you are knowledgable, I have to ask about the orphanage/street kid work that's going on in Russia (and elsewhere, I suspect).

We are, after all, talking about people from a "family" organization with a history of pedophilia doing the business of caring for throw-away children. It's not like there's lots of relatives and concerned adults out there looking after these kids, or they wouldn't need some well intentioned do-gooders (with a questionable credentials at best) to come along and care for them.

As a child advocate with membership in an international nongovernmental social development organization (IUCISD), I feel compelled to ask about these things. Please educate me further. I am going to Bombay this winter to present a paper on child sexual abuse in cultural context. I had considered checking out the family "ministry" while I was there.

I am simply in the fact-finding and assessment mode. I have been trained to be extremely methodical and cautious with regard to actually making an intervention. With regard to Faithy, exposing her is not what I had in mind as a possible intervention. My view of her is that she is a very sick woman. There are evidence-based treatments for alcoholism and mental illness that work, should the person be inclined to seek help.

How much responsibility Faithy should take for her role in the COG nightmare of abuse is not mine to judge. As a clinician, I view that as something she will have to determine for herself as a consequence of her treatment plan. The criminal prosecution or "punishment" of child molesters is another topic altogether, and not my area of expertise...or something I have the time or energy to pursue.
