as far as summit jewels goes, wasn't that just meant for the eyes of a few top leaders?correct me if i'm wrong here, but if i recall correctly, my kids who were still in at the time, had never seen it.it seems to me they were shocked by it. so i do not think something that was supposed to be hidden from membership could be construed as "official policy".
i personally get the feeling that m&p and a few of their closest associates are so out of touch w/ the reality on the ground that even if they think they've got all 100%'ers now, what really is going on in the rank and file is more of a "don't ask, don't tell" sort of thing. people go on w/ their lives, partaking buffet style of the mailings and policies, redefining "the family" in their own minds according to their veiws. "si si, oui, oui, ya,ya .." can cut two ways.
my heart is for trying to relate to the folks who may be feeling the squeeze, and weighing their options. if witnessing to a muslim, i wouldn't lead w/ "muslims believe in blowing up innocent people. how can you stay a muslim." that is wrong from so many different angles...regardless of any element of truth i might be able to build a case for.
anyhow, as forest gump would say, "that's all i've got to say about that."
