Of course there were good memories & good in the midst of the evil, & all of us can look back on true friends trying to do good, but what makes it difficult for exmembers is that we were part of a religious organization that systematically sexually abused children, that deliberately deprived them of education & subjected them to concealment, financial exploitation, etc. Those children are now young adults & many are suffering the results. Some have commited suicide.
Rocky & others of us cannot ever get past that because the past is with us daily in the form of hurt young men & women. I think Rocky doesn't need to be hard on himself, but I don't expect him to start talking about the good old days either. And always there's the age old question of how could we have tried to serve God but ended up in the most infamous sex cult on this world.
