rocky, i am not sure if i fully understand what you are saying here. are you trying to say that all experiences had by all people while in the family should be counted as evil because of moses david? do you really feel that all your contacts , human and divine , for that entire period of your life are so negative, because of mo, that there is nothing positive, or eternal, that you can carry forward ? do you believe that your experience can be universalized?
i am not arguing that the overall impact of the family has been negative, indeed often tragic, and agree that the world will be better off when the family is an historical footnote. but i do wonder if it is necessarily healthy to so veiw all our experiences in that light(or perhaps dark, is a better word.)
having also been raised catholic, i think we can agree that many tragic things transpired thruout history as a result of false teaching and abusive leadership in that organization. yet certainly that does not prevent God from communicating w/ a mother theresa, despite her involvement in a group w/ such a history, and doctrinal error. (this is not an argument of degree, but kind, if you catch my logic.) i just don't believe that God abandons sincere praying people, even if db is playing w/ their heads. he just isn't as big as God, if you know what i mean.
have i misunderstood? your thoughts?
