Almost 20 years since you realized Berg was a pedofile? So the big anniversary is coming up? Hmmmm ... get a cake, put 20 candles in it, "mark it with 'B' for Bergy", light the candles, then cruse around your city looking for a Family member. Stop the car when you see him, ask him if he believes the Law of Love (meanwhile balancing the cake in your quivering right hand, innocent-looking) and then ... well, you get the picture.
Beyond that, the serious issues you raised and which ex-culties from time immemorial have raised, "How could I get sucked in?" well, it seems that eternity is a long, long time to turn our lemons into lemon juice. In the short term, back here on the ranch, have you considered electro-therapy to exorcise the Berg demons? (Just kidding.)
I don't know how to deal with the long-term damage Berg did to all of us, and particularly to SGs. Heck, if I claimed I knew all the answers, I'd be half-way to starting my own cult. And you gotta know that's not the way to go.
