Take care of yourself. I am glad that you are involved with the Aikido thing etc. It is good to build your own life. I am sure you will figure out what is the best thing for you to do in this situation. The type of anger, disappointment and hurt that so many have experienced as exers, and in such different ways between generations, can take years to work out. And everybody has their own way to do it and speed to do it. I just hope the best for you and your family.
I relate to your lack of trust. Probably because I joined at barely 18 and had such a bad family history. Some was irrepairable, in person. I wish you well.
