As for your first sentence, why don't you ask the intel who I think know more than you do. Right now they are reporting pockets of Al Queda in Iraq yet you still stubbornly say there is no proof.
War protests have always taken place in the U.S. and in this day it's considered very fashionable and is incited by certain elements. Youth always like to be against something whether they understand it or not. Not to mention the fact that we have allowed too permissive of a society to evolve so that there are more socialists teaching in our universities and implanting these ideas in the ideological minds of young people. Call Americans bullies or whatever you want to call them, that's your perception only. But it's just those bullies the world seems to love to call on when they need something. It's just those bullies that inevitably save more lives than not. If you want to name call, how about China and Russia who have murdered more of their own people than any of the "invasions" the U.S. has been responsible for. If you can't see any good that comes out of it, then perhaps you would be happier under socialism and Marxism?
And you are really stretching the imagination if you want to compare the government of Saddam with the U.S. government. There is no chance of criticizing the government in Iraq or any type of self-doubt or you will be shot or your tongue cut out. The people are oppressed and virtual captives. And I haven’t even touched on the crimes towards women. You should feel lucky and privileged to be in a country where criticism and questioning is allowed and in fact encouraged. The people I know do not want to overthrow the government even when we had a clown named Clinton for two whole terms and which embarrassed many of the people I know while he was screwing an impressionable 19 yr old intern in the oval office and lying to the American public, yet we did not go around to other countries apologizing and saying we were embarrassed even if we were. There are many hard working American people who though may be unhappy with certain things find other avenues for change and still support their country because we believe in the idea of capitalism and the chance to excel, own your own property, live freely and have more opportunities than in a closed society or tottering socialistic government. There’s another segment of the population you appear to be out of touch with and certainly cannot relate to. Maybe you will hear from them soon and you might not be so happy when you finally do, like the little boy constantly picking at the sleeping lion. Watch out, you may wake him up.
