Saying that all countries want the same thing, control of the oil, just not under US control, is probably true but too simplistic because war protests are also taking place in the US.
Couldn't it be that decent people in general just don't like bullying and arrogance? The US broke the brotherhood of bullies and the older colonialist powers who keep that same mentality got offended.
It will also be helpful to distinguish between the governments and the people who live under thhose governments. Even the US government makes that distinction made between Hussein's regime and the people of Iraq.
