Of course that would be expected, that the US has plans for Iraq besides "liberating its people." And it is true that you get criticized no matter what you do. But you do have some extreme statements by saying: "We wouldn't have had WWII if we had done things right during WWI" and "we gave Hitler's regime a chance to regroup and come back at the world." The other side of the story is that when Hitler was coming to power, the US entered an isolationist period and chose to ignore what was happening in Europe, believing it could not be affected. It was also a time when trade disputes led directly to the Japanese heading for South-East Asia in order to capture resources for its industries. For me, being the complicated one who has both Jewish and Palestinian friends, it's hard to agree with such an extreme viewpoint. It would be like saying MacArthur should have had his way and dropped about 50 nuclear bombs on China so we wouldn't have had the cold war, and the Korean and the Vietnam war.
