Anyone who has fellowship with current members shoud take warning. Keep them away from your kids.
To answer your question,
I would do everything I could, to dissuade my children from making the same life ruining mistake I made. But in the end I would have no choice but to let them decide for themselves.
One thing I wouldn't do is knowingly expose them to such poison by having contact with active members.
Whenever kids are disillusioned or unhappy in their life situation and can't see any short term hope of improvement, cults are ready and waiting to give them a "new life".
It's like letting a fox guard your chickens to expose an adolescent to cult members.
The lures of adventure, cult "love", dogmatic zeal, and sex are strong temptations for teens.
We're all living proof of that. GHU
