I just read this shocking news on another board. To me, this is the fruit of hanging out with F. people and people who still admire the F. even though they are out. I am just so glad I took my kids completely out of the F. and anything remotely like it or similar or reminding us of it. I wouldn't even let a poster be displayed, I threw out all the grandpa stories, good thoughts, anything to remind us of them. Then, I let all the kids know in no uncertain terms the evils that went on in the COG and why it's so bad to be attached to anything as controlling and abusive as that group or any group with similar motivations. Not only that, but I instilled in them the honorary aspect of working for a living, making something out of their lives, reaching for their dreams and being independent. None of my kids would ever even consider going into the F. In fact, we are all always happy when we hear of some SGA friend leaving the F. We try to do what, if anything, we can to help. The oldest often visits his siblings and lets them know he will be there for them if they need help once they turn 18 and want to leave. When he visits, he often meets with other old friends and tries to show them another way then living in the F. and being stuck in that lifestyle. I can't understand this other mentality from other exmembers. Wow.
