You had some sense (20%, 10%, 5%, whatever small)... but what about some of the others? The thinking processes of some were left by the door when they joined and still continue in that group. In spite of all the facts they continue their non-thinking career. So, seeing that self preservations is a strong deterrent to inflict pain to one's self, what if we turn the observation around and ask the most terrible question:
What would an obedient Family disciple, as you were, do if ordered to kill somebody else?
