It was that ever present, all imposing, figure of a God-head that was ready to do damage to you or your family if you "got out from underneath the umbrella of God's protection" - see I can see quote it. That used to scare the pee out of me, no kidding. I was deathly afraid to be out of God's will. Who knows what underworld figure would grab me or do me harm if God wasn't protecting me. I swear, so much for Berg's wonderful doctrine of salvation by grace, he negated it all with his subtle gloom and doom pinings that kept us shaking with fear and trembling. Then he made fun of us for trying to follow whatever he did when he was the one who made us so fearful in the firstplace. grrr... stil makes me mad.
